Student Academic Integrity Process
Academic Action
- A student is suspected of violating the Academic Integrity Policy
- The instructor requests to meet with the student to discuss his/her concerns and request that the student bring a copy of their rough work and their reference materials.
- The meeting should be able to give the instructor a sense of how the student constructed the assignment or that the student did not cheat on the test/quiz.
- If the student admits to violating the Academic Integrity Policy or if the student denies violating the policy but the instructor has the evidence to prove otherwise, the professor has the following options:
- •Lowering the grade for the assignment/test/quiz
•Giving a F grade for the assignment/test/quiz •Lowering the students overall grade •Failing the student for the class
- The instructor will then forward the reporting form for violations to the Academic Integrity Policy along with a copy of the evidence to the Office of Student Conduct & Ethical Development.
