Programs Funding
Funds are available to:
- Faculty members
- Academic department or programs
- Campus units
The kinds of activities/projects funded:
- Visits by artists, scholars or other community speakers
- Conferences or symposia
- Campus forums
- Outreach activities
- Diversity training
- Cultural Celebration events and more
To receive funding an event/project must be
- Consistent and relevant with the mission of MOSAIC
- Open to all SJSU students, staff, and faculty
- Implemented with the policies and procedures of San José State University
When evaluating a proposal, we may consider:
- The merit of the program
- Timely submission of the proposal
- The benefit to the students and the campus
- The detail of the budget
- The number of people who will benefit from the program
- The degree to which the program is organized and publicized
- The number of contributions from other sponsors
- Completeness of application
- The prior history of similar events
- The availability of funds in MOSAIC's budget
We do not fund:
- AS election, campaign, etc. activities
- Class projects
- Events that serve alcohol
- Food and drink expenditures (special approval is required)
- Payment for services rendered by organization
- Past expenditures
- Events that are exclusionary or inaccessible to the entire campus
- Events that do not "target" the San José State University community
