Tobi Richards

Running for A.S. Director of Programming Affairs

Quality programming is essential for strong campus community. At it's best, it can promote unity, understanding and pride. "Creating great and memorable events and activities for San Jose State University requires not only creative ideas, but also the skills and knowledge necessary to execute those plans. I am a candidate who possesses both those ideas and those skills.

My name is Tobi Richards. I am currently a sophomore majoring in Advertising.

The bulk of my experience comes from my membership in Alpha Phi Omega, the co-ed National Service Fraternity here at SJSU. I have held various positions and responsibilities within the organization including the creation of servicebased programming as the Co-Vice President of Service, the organization of both private and school-wide events and the chairing of several committees. My involvement with Alpha Phi Omega has helped me to develop my leadership skills and taught me invaluable lessons on program planning and more importantly, execution.

If elected, I will focus on several goals, including:

  • Making sure that great ideas are followed by concrete and accomplishable plans for making them happen,
  • Ensuring that programs reflect what you, the student, want to see, and
  • Developing a more productive programming committee.

I am aware of the responsibilities of this position and am capable of fulfilling them with a balance of creativity and efficiency. Thank you for your consideration and for making San Jose State a better place through your involvement. Vote for me, Tobi Richards, for Director of Programming Affairs.
