Transfer Student Information

Attend a Transfer Information Program

The Transfer Information Program (TIP) is a one-day program that will acquaint you with the campus, introduce you to your College and major department, and provide you with critical academic planning information. SJSU faculty and staff will:

  • Discuss and explain key university services
  • Review what's next before you start classes
  • Provide a hands-on General Education requirements and preparation for the WST
  • Introduce you to your college academic advising

You may wish to bring unofficial copies of all college transcripts, GE certifications, placement test scores, and your TAA contract if applicable. Your advisor may ask for these documents.

What If You Can't Attend?

Don't panic-although TIP attendance is HIGHLY recommended, it is not mandatory. If you are unable to attend follow these steps:

  • Call your major department for an advising appointment.
  • Go to www.sjsu.edu/visit to arrange for a campus tour.
  • Stop by the Student Services Center at the corner of 10th Street and San Fernando. Most university services are located here.
