Fees for Medical ServicesCost for Regularly Enrolled StudentsRegularly-enrolled students pay a mandatory health service fee that entitles them to receive primary health care services at no additional cost. Fees for specialty care services such as Dermatology and Physical Therapy cost $10 per visit. Podiatry is provided at NO cost to students. Travel clinic costs $25 per visit. Prescriptions, physical therapy visits, outside laboratory test procedures, elective physical examinations, and some injections and vaccinations are also assessed a fee. Fees for these services and procedures vary. Cost for Open University and Continuing Education StudentsStudents enrolled through Open University and Continuing Education do not pay the mandatory health fee, therefore a fee ($25) is charged for every visit. SJSU Mandatory Health FeeThe mandatory health fee entitles students to receive Primary Care services at no cost. However, the mandatory health fee does not cover SpecialtyServices. Students enrolled through Continuing Education, Open University or special programs pay $25.00 per visit. Health InsuranceHealth insurance is not required for a visit at the Health Center. However, since there is no overnight, weekend, or long-term medical care provided by the Health Center, health insurance may be needed for outside hospitalization, special tests, and specialty care that are not available at the Health Center. Those who do not have health insurance, through parents or an employer, are encouraged to purchase the supplemental health insurance offered through the Associated Students (408) 924-6200. There is a separate plan for international students (408) 924-5920. Insurance plan details from the Associated Students of SJSU can be found at www.csuhealthlink.com . |
